My first concert of the year will take place in a couple of weeks. It would take awhile to explain why I don't have a concert before February, but trust me, I'll make up for it in the next two months.
I'm both nervous and eager. My 4th and 5th graders will be doing some material that is unlike anything that my students have presented in the past. This is largely due to working with all of you in Rochester last summer. My students have had a significant role in creating some of what will be presented. There has been a lot more "exploration" in my classroom this year as we have moved toward this concert. In some ways I feel like I have started over.
I'm appreciating so much of what I have been learning and this process, which for me is my own "exploration" phase. As I reflect on that I continue to think about all of you and wonder about how things are going for each of you. I know that we haven't been sharing many ideas on this blog this year, but I'm wondering if this might be a good time for some of us to take that step. Maybe we could choose one story about something that has been particularly successful for us this year (and the details about the resource materials that we have used with that lesson/piece). Perhaps it might be helpful for some of us to also talk a little about something that has been a challenge, or outright unsuccessful.
I'd love to hear from you. From all of you.
I hope you're all having a great and fruitful year.

Hey Rob, and everyone! Good morning and happy Wednesday! I keep meaning to post here and then forgetting, however, I will make it a goal to post something soon. I'm having quite an interesting year full of much learning. I, also, am using a lot of ideas from the summer! Have a good Wednesday (my hardest day - hopefully not yours!) and I will try to post very soon! Thanks for sticking with it, Rob.
