Hey Everyone,
Anyone signed up for level III yet? I need to get my registration done.
My school has told us that we can purchase some choral music. I'd love to hear your most recent recommendations. Two (and maybe three) part treble, please.
Thanks.
Rob
Rob,
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting for our tax return, but we will sign up as soon as that's done. It's like the papers are basically filled out, we just need the money! AHH! I might e-mail Donna and ask her to save me a spot. Haha. Have you signed up?
Sorry I can't help with the choral music!
Hi Rob + Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'm taking Level III this summer yet. I'll keep you posted.
As for great two and three part choral music, here are some of my faves that we've done with sixth grade chorus @ Maple Ave... some are early 6th grade, some are ADVANCED 6th/ 7th grade.
I look these titles up on www.jwpepper.com and youtube.com to see samples before I order, but I have a bunch of single copies if you need to check anything out.
- Explore, Dream, Discover (Nick Page)- tough 3 parts, can be 2 parts or unison
- Circle 'Round the Moon
- Uncle Joe (Ginsberg?)
- Moon (I recommended this to you before I think)
- Bidi Bom
- Canon Gloria
- Homeward Bound (Keen)- 3 parts, hard
- Keep Your Hands On That Plow
- Alleluia Round (Proulx/ Boyce)
- Ordinary Miracle
- Bonse Aba
- Give Us Hope (Papoulis-- I love his music)
- Enter With Singing (Cristy Cary Miller)
I'm sure I have more, but I'm not in "school mode" at the moment.
I hope you're having a great year, everyone!
Karen
Along the same lines, does anyone have great SSA/ Three-Part mixed suggestions for 7th-8th grade?! 7th grade is new to me this year, and rep. choice is very challenging!
